Concierge for American retirees moving to France

The whole move, expertly orchestrated.

Move Concierge is for American retirees making the move. One team builds and files the visa, sets up healthcare, banking, and housing, and sequences both countries' paperwork. The move runs on one plan, with one person who owns it.

Eight workstreams, one team.

The visa is one workstream, not the whole move. Healthcare, banking, and housing run alongside it — set up cleanly from day one, so your first year in France isn't spent fixing avoidable mistakes.

How the months line up

The move, in order.

Consulate dates move. The order of the work does not.

  1. We begin

Your documents are mapped and the dossier opens.

  2. The file

Dossier built: translations, insurance, proof of resources. We read and check each document the moment it lands and measure its freshness against your appointment date. Nothing already on file is asked for twice.

  3. Lodged

Every form completed and submitted on your behalf, and your appointment at TLScontact (the visa application center) booked around your availability — you arrive prepared.

  4. In parallel

While the consulate holds the file, the rest of the move keeps moving: housing scoped, healthcare enrollment prepared, the bank introduction lined up for arrival week.

  5. The decision

The consulate's call. Your file waits with them while we watch the status — and your passport comes back with the visa inside.

  6. Arrival

Visa validated, healthcare and banking set up in your first weeks; the final half of the fee is only charged then.

If a refusal can be fixed, we re-file once — at no additional Aelos fee.

One thing is outside anyone's hands: the final decision belongs to French administration, and no one can guarantee it. What we stand behind is written in our Terms: the final half of the fee is only ever charged when you actually arrive, and where a corrected file can fix a refusal, we re-prepare and re-file once within six months.

Healthcare

From Medicare to Carte Vitale.

  1. 01
    Medicare strategy

Keep Part A if it serves you. Whether to drop Part B is a real decision — we put a Medicare specialist in the loop before you make it.

  2. 02
    First-year insurance

Visa-compliant private coverage the consulate accepts, bought for the full first year. It's the one insurance decision that can sink a visa file.

  3. 03
    PUMa enrollment

France's universal coverage, available after three months of residency. Processing can be slow, so we track it and guide every follow-up. We also flag whether a separate health contribution applies to your income profile.

  4. 04
    Mutuelle

The private top-up that covers what PUMa doesn't — around €250 a month for a couple in their late 60s.

  5. 05
    Carte Vitale

The card in your wallet that makes it real: no networks, no deductibles, no surprise bills.

How payment works

15% when you sign up.

35% four months before departure — or when you sign up if you're moving sooner.

50% on confirmed arrival in France — never charged if your plans change.

Excludes government-mandated and TLS fees (consulate visa fee, TLScontact fee, TLS Express passport-return courier, validation timbre fiscal, US apostilles) — typically ~$840 per person, ~$1,680 for a couple. Insurance premiums (your visa-year policy and your mutuelle) are paid directly to your carrier; we handle the enrollment, not the premium. Home search is scoped with you and delivered by a vetted partner you engage directly, at their rates. The full scope is in our Terms of Service.

After the move

The move has an end. The renewals don't.

Membership covers the recurring layer, year after year: the renewals, both countries' tax filings, one calendar. Entirely optional.
